Seascapes and Coastlines

My take on the spherical boulder made famous by photographer Joe Cornish (hence the title). The surrounding rocks and the ridged cliff on the right frame the boulder perfectly and help the composition.

While the evening sun kisses the rocks, rain clouds gather over the distant Black Cuillin Mountains adding atmosphere and drama at this amazing location.

The first ribbon of morning light appears over the horizon on the Northumberland coast.

While the waves toss the fishing boat, the dark clouds signal the coming storm.

Magnificent colours fill the sky looking Southwest from Elgol over to Rum and Canna.

As the sun rises behind Bamburgh Castle a myriad of colours fill the sky announcing the dawning of a new day.

The sky darkens and the wind picks up as the weather changes for the worst at Elgol 

 Bamburgh Beach, Northumberland, one of my favourite places and a great place to witness a surise.

Arnardrangur - the Eagle Rock at Dyrholaey the southernmost point in Iceland. In the distance are the iconic black sea stacks of the Reynisdrangar.

Ten miles off the west coast of Scotland the Ailsa Craig is a tiny volcanic isle of granite leftover from a long-extinct volcano. 

The remains of a boat wreck on Longniddry beach, soon the sea will claim it forever as it disintegrates with each passing year.
